Gazpacho Texas Style Recipe

A Texas twist on gazpacho — chilled tomato broth with cucumber, avocado, peppers, and jalapeño zest for a fresh, bold, and zesty summer soup.

Gazpacho Texas Style

Ingredients

  • 1 can of tomato soup
  • 1 can of chicken broth
  • juice of a large lemon & zest
  • 2 large cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 3 oz lime juice
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • wine or balsamic vinegar, to taste
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup Spiceitup! Jalapeño Ketchup
  • 6 large green onions, chopped
  • large cucumber, chopped (no seeds)
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 avocado, chopped
  • sliced black olives
  • green pepper, chopped
  • chopped tomatoes, use diced canned tomatoes if fresh are unavailable

Directions

Heat tomato soup and mix in the chicken broth. Let the mixture cool, then add all other ingredients. You can add a bit of sugar if it's too acidic and add V8 if it's too thick. Chill overnight and serve with garlic bread or croutons. Bon Appetit!
